Erasing Holmgren's Bad Moves

Description
Paul Holmgren traded Jeff Carter and Mike Richards for Jake Voracek, Sean Couturier, Wayne Simmonds, Brayden Schenn, and Nick Cousins. He traded for Scott Hartnell, Kimmo Timonen and signed Danny Briere in the summer of 2007. He also got Wayne Simmonds on one of the best value contracts in the NHL. Matt Read and Michael Raffl were also excellent undrafted FA signings. However, he will mostly be remembered for a few awful FA signings over the years (Vinny, AMac, and of course, Mr. Universe) and some bonehead trades like, Scottie Upshall and a 2nd round pick for Dan Carcillo, JVR for Luke Schenn, and Sergei Bobrovsky for 3 picks. The later actually turned out to be decent coupled with the fact that he acquired Steve Mason (who has been one of the better goalies in the league since joining the Flyers, look at the stats) for Michael Leighton. This is what the Flyers could look like going into the upcoming season had he not done those terrible things.

I realize this is over the cap but Steve Mason probably wouldn't be here had we kept Bob.

If you see my handle, it's like yours....Sad__Leaf___Fan. Being a Leaf supporter as such, I've seen many years of incompetent GMs running the club. Both Philly and Toronto have many executives which oversee the operations. Just don't how Holmgren, Ferguson, Burke, Nonis, were allowed to make so many bad trades, free agent signings which cost the owners millions of dollars without someone putting the halt to some of the moves.
Maybe when a GM has a potential trade deal, the teams should have an anonymous Armchair GM, so many hockey folks from the team can make their input.
