Description

As much as Perry has meant for this team, we could use his salary to resign Eaves and get another top-6 forward (Bonino, Oshie). The rest of this deal is predicated on a trade for Drouin or a similar high-end, young forward. Moving Silfvy from the Kesler line could allow him to become more of an offensice threat, while allowing Kase to take a more important role on the team. Miller (who wants to be in SoCal near his wife) would be the perfect mentor for Gibson - elite-level, American goalie who is towards the end of this career.

Drouin is worth more then an injured Vatanen+2nd, If Vatanen comes to Tampa it's for Palat not Drouin.

Hahah Sorry I upset you. This was just a thought experiment and wanted to see what people thought. Simply, Perry is not playing like an 8.7m player. if Kesler is going to be our shut down C, he has to be bottom 6. The team needs more goals and this could be a way to do it.

That's a horrible way to use your cap space, especially in years 2 and 4. Bonino is not a true top-6 player; he's really a 3C who'd be a fringe 2C on a good team. Also you can't buy out Despres because I doubt he'll be fully recovered until after the buyout deadline.
