Pretty hard to get a 2017 pick for Kovalchuk, When he can't sign until July 1st and the draft is already over 2018 and later picks for Kovy.

Am I missing something on that COL trade? Because it looks like we're trading #1 overall AND our best goalie prospect for a worse pick this year and a 2nd rounder. That makes absolutely no sense.
