Why? Ceci has been good for the oilers and has a good contract. Dumo, although playing a bit better recently, has been quite bad this season. Kapanen and JP are kind of a wash but at least Edmonton has the freedom of not having to pay JP if they choose not to next season. Also I feel JP is the better player as is over Kapanen. Oilers also couldn't afford it once Kane returns. Dumo and kap cost 1M more than ceci and JP. You would then also have to have Kulak play his off side. This trade would make the oilers worse this year and next year all for only getting a second and fourth. If you think about next year, not even considering how much worse they would be this year, Edmonton would have to try and find a RD in free agency so you are likely over paying to get one of the few options out there. No guarantee Dumo resigns either. Replacing JP in free agency would be alot easier than trying to replace ceci if they didn't resign JP.
