why get two elite forwards and two 3rd pair D? Makes no sense. Also don't want Miller's extension.

I'd be interested in Bertuzzi, but would hope to get a legitimate top 4 RHD instead of Miller

Honestly I was just trying to tie in what Ive seen on CF lately, to see if I could create madness while still making each fanbase take a second look. Miller having the ability to be a C opens up other line combinations, and the cap space shedding offers more flexibility. Also, for as much as I dislike Toronto (as all DET/TOR fans should dislike the others' TEAM, not fans), a top 6 of Miller-AM34-Marner Bert-JT-Nylander is disgusting.

Obviously there was a lot of things that were missed and it was thought of while I had some spare time. Just wanted to see something different than the normal suspects getting moved over and over in the same manner.

laugh So basically Detroit gives up 8 pieces for Horvat and Knies. You're a Wings fan and make this atrocious trade for us.

Again, reading is not your strong suit I see. It was a fun attempt at making a trade that differs from the usual trades that occur on this site daily. It is not realistic as stated, nor do conglomerate trades like this occur in the NHL. The only goal was to make each fan base take a second look and think about it. This result holds true as you are a Red Wings fan complaining from your side. Toronto fans will complain from their side, Vancouver will do the same. You also fail to see the other side of the fence.

PLAYER 1) Detroit has turned the corner on the rebuild. Would you as a Detroit fan rather have option A) Bertuzzi at a 6-8y x 7-8M deal B) Horvat at a 6-8y x 7-9M deal C) Bertuzzi gone as a UFA? Mine is B > A > C. Horvat is also a center, and loves the Wings. May be easier to sign him at a better price, rather than having Bert take forever (first contract had some issues with Detroit if you don't remember).

PLAYER 2) Detroit has Edvinsson, Wallinder, Johansson, Buium, Sebrango, McIsaac, Viro on the LHD prospect side of things. Is losing Sebrango (as good as he has looked at times) an acceptable loss for the acquisition of Knies? I think that is a nice boost for the Wings.

PLAYER 3) I love Rasmussen, and would like to see him continue building and progressing as he has. But if Vancouver is going to shell out their CAPTAIN (reverse and think if it was Larkin), they need an NHL piece that can replace or at least help with the burden of losing him. Ras is nowhere near Horvat, but he is 23, has scored big goals, is physical, and an RFA on a great contract.

PLAYER 4) Andreasson is a wild card. If SY didn't dish out for Kubalik, Perron, and Copp, he may be in a Wings jersey this season. For a team possibly rebuilding in VAN, he is a nice little bonus at very little risk.

PLAYER 5) Erne is gone after this season regardless of his production. What better return would you want from him at the TDL? Kerfoot comes in his place and can most likely fetch that.

PLAYER 6) Same goes for Oesterle, with Holl as the swap.

PIECES 7 AND 8) The two picks are to help VAN get as much return as possible. 2023 2nd will be a tough loss, but Detroit does have two of them. 2024 1st is steep, but Horvat as the number 2 center for Detroit when the team starts competing is worth it.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to let me know.

thing with Miller though is its cap hell after this year. We can't take on his extension. Bunting can just keep his spot in the top six at 925K and we should spend the money and assets on the blue line with Muzzin potentially done.
