I definitely feel better, but we haven't beat any real good teams still. The performance against Boston was encouraging, but losing is still losing.
The game against Carolina was masterful. And we offensively manhandled the Islanders. Caps were dealt with easily. This weeks games in combination with the Boston game have me feeling much more belief. I think the slump we went through has led us to peak at the right time. Regardless of the outcome in Boston. You could visibly see the team had a fire that truthfully I haven't seen all season. Things didn't fall our way but that game definitely got the ball rolling for this week. I think the 81st game against Toronto will be huge even if we lose a few games before then. If we win it will give us confidence that we can beat them. If we lose or get smoked on home ice, the team will be pissed and come out swinging in game 1.
A few weeks ago I was worried we'd limp into the first round then get blown out. Now I'm feel like whichever team wins the Atlantic wins the east. The team that played the last 4 games has a shot against Toronto and Boston, I haven't been able to comfortably say that in some time.
With the injuries they had, they're probably a first round exit if they fall out of first in the Metro.
The only injury they had was Svechnikov. While he is a huge offensive driver, they're still a damn good team without him. Their offensive power is now much more suspect yes, but we still earned a masterful 2 points.
Yeah teams have a book on his blocker now. He got lit up last ploffs that way. That will be his downfall if it happens. High blocker all day. I'm not watching the game tho
Rangsey What happened tonight I was watching Calgary Winnipeg
It was a super weird game.
Vasy lost his blocker for the first 10 minutes. Then a bunch of players did really spectacular things in an otherwise incredibly ugly game. It wasn't even "playoff hockey" I don't think there's too much you can take from it other than "they didn't let themselves get pushed around"
Hagel Point Eyssimont anyone?
Killer Stammer Kuch?
Nah I say keep Ace on the first line with pointer and kuch and stick Hagel with Stam and Killer. I'm tellin ya, this kid is gonna flourish playing with elite players.
I think he was out of options and was trying to bank it off the right boards to himself, but ended up hitting Acciari and it worked out. I really hope we don't get a repeat of last year where half of the series someone has a powerplay. It's ridiculous. I wanna see some games with mostly all 5v5 time
