Not knocking anything, as I think Eberle is a very good move. Out of curiosity, I'm not against Manson but is he worth Miller +? I know he's a solid stay at home dman and is big. But JT Miller just had his best season and may only get better. Do you trade him for Manson who you have listed as a 3rd pairing dman?

Ideally no, and we get him for less. Really would have preferred Vatanen, and maybe is even worth trading for him despite the injury but since we don't know how long he'll be out for I think Manson is worth pursuing. Plus Manson's cap situation works in getting the other deals done. I love JT and would really like to keep him but I think he is our most intriguing trade bait for getting better D.

I totally get that and do think he'd be the F to go for a dman. The Vatanen injury sucks as it seemed like a Vatanen/Miller trade was going to most likely happen. I still think Step should somehow be moved but he prob doesn't as it may look badly for UFAs to sign.
