AZ is rebuilding, they aren't giving up assets to take on your aging players. If you want to dump smith's contract, you need to give them a pick. Probably a 4th or 5th.

Wouldn't it be better just to keep Studnicka? He's only played 37 NHL games and could still be developed + I don't see the kraken giving up assets for Foligno.

The Kane trade isn't terrible, but they ask for Lysell in return if you really want Kane

You don’t know what you’re talking about, Smith does not have negative value. 15-20 goal scorer for 3.1 million is very solid

I’d do the Zona trade. Zona won’t. Pass on the rest.

Boston’s farm system far to shallow to give up the few assets they do have for past their prime rentals.

You missed the entire point of what I said. It doesn't matter if he "does not have negative value", Arizona is rebuilding and isn't paying you an asset (especially the asset being a 2rd round pick) for a 33 year old 3rd liner. And why do they need retention, they have 19m in cap space? It'd make more sense to trade smith to a contending team who could utilize him.
Same with Mike Reilly, why are they paying a 3rd for a 29 year old dman they don't need

If Smith's contract is good for his production, why don't you just keep him?

But I don't know what I'm talking about...yeah

You took that the wrong way for sure. I was specifically only singling out your one point about paying to trade Smith. The rest is fine, and I know the Coyotes wouldn’t pay for him but my point is correcting that one statement. And I’d rather keep him anyway but almost every team is right up against the cap and might look to move salary.
