Larsson isn't the defenseman he use to be, he wasn't even good for Seattle last year. Kassian at 50% retained doesn't have any notable value either

How So?

He is still very valuable as a second pairing guy, especially at 4 mil

It's hard to tell when he was playing on a bad team last year

Watching him play, he is still a very solid defenseman who can pitch in offensively and is good defensively. advanced stats back it up for the most part as well.

Even so, I doubt he waives his no-trade protection after just one season with a new expansion team. Maybe when he realizes that the Kraken are going to have to build from the ground up in order to be competitive, he'll finally realize he doesn't fit their timeline and accept being traded to a more currently competitive team

Larsson has never actually been any good. He's a black hole of a defenceman. Never has the puck when he's on the ice and spends most of his time hemmed into his own end. He'd fit right in on the Canucks right side though.

Offense and Larsson do not go together. He's one of the worst defenceman in the league that people still seem to think is going to be good. The guy is a pylon.

I don't think a 4th buys both of SJ's top Penalty Killing Forward and a Big Young RFA. You might get Gadjovich for that, but not Nieto
That would be an over pay for Larsson, who whether or not is good or bad, isn't available. He's one of their Captains and their Top Shut Down and PK D-Man, who Francis has said is integral to their corp. Better options to pursue would be Ethan Bear, Prospect Reilly Walsh or Veteran Damon Severson
