Description
Using free cap space to take on bad contracts as part of trades, could sign Cody Glass/Casey Mittelstadt + Timothy Liljegren with 2 first round picks... + Rasmus Dahlin in 2018? (Fingers crossed, all aboard team tank!)

Giving Brock Boeser, Thatcher Demo, Olli Juolevi & Jake Virtanen more time in AHL/CHL to aid their development.

Top prospects post trades:
Jonathan Drouin, Thatcher Demko, Brock Boeser, Olli Juolevi, Bo Horvat (give him an 'A'), Nikita Tryamkin, Jonathan Dahlen, Nikolay Goldobin, Troy Stecher, Jake Virtanen, Jordan Subban + draft picks.

Let me know what you think!!

I am In on all those moves. However, I see us having to give up CBJ 2nd rounder in the tampa trade at minimum. It would make sense to get Howden instead of Drouin using the same trade you show now. You need at least the #33 pick and a sweetener in the Dallas Trade for there to even be discussion. Lots of teams have movable pieces because of expansion so I'll hold my breath before any of these happen, although it is similar to what I have in mind.

Thanks for the feedback, I suppose the picks could be juggled around, however I like the idea of potentially being able to draft both Cody Glass and Henri Jokiharju (RHD) from Portland. If the Dallas deal fell through, what would you think about taking Liljegren with the 5th overall pick given he probably has a higher ceiling than any of the centres that will be available?

        Neither trade works

Elder isn't good enough for them to give up #3
        Not that Edler isn't good,
But they could get a better guy if they wanted to move the pick

And not even close w the Tampa trade
They don't need to dump Cally bad enough to give such a deal on Drouin
TB could just move Cally in a separate deal to someone & throw in a pick to make it work
        But even if not...
        they'd want more for Drouin

Edler performed well with Klingberg for Sweden and the deal would help Dallas out in goal, what do you think about taking Lehtonen instead or changing the CBJ 2nd for VAN 2nd as playercoachreggiedunlop suggested? I don't think the Tanev trade is too far off (based on Hall for Larsson and given Tampa's cap situation), maybe it could do with some sweetening, changing the pick to CBJ 2nd or retaining some cap...

Great job! Maybe add a second in the TB/DAL trade though (2nd/3rds)...

Sadly Benning isn't smart enough to do these moves...

Haha thanks, although he did manage to get Jonathan Dahlen for a 36 year old Alex Burrows on an expiring contract!

Doubt Edler waives his NTC and Edler isn't getting you no 3rd overall pick.

2017 World Champion Edler wink to play with Klingberg + 2nd round pick (either CBJ or VAN) + Niemi contract

Tampa and Dallas would definitely both say no. Drouin would need to be paid more money if we were to somehow get his rights. I shudder to think how bad the pairing of Pedan and Subban would be, McEneny is a much better player than either of them.

Either Pedan and Subban are terrible (which is kind of the point as it looks like there are significantly better players available at the top end of next years draft) and they get replaced by Juolevi and (hopefully) Liljegren/Makar/Jokiharju next year or the year after, or they turn out alright and the Canucks know they have 2 more young NHL defencemen in the organisation. There's only one way to find out.
