What do we think about being in on Chychrun? I like the player but feel like whoever gets him is going to overpay and I’d rather keep our picks

depends a lot IMO on the other moves they make first and the actual asking price. if they can get another first and second out of the rest of the UFAs I say go for it, especially if they only need to give up the two later picks. If not I would hold onto them until the draft and see where everything is, maybe go after Meier or DeBrincat then or just hold them

that sheary/tvr 2v1 is the perfect encapsulation of the season lol, completely **** it up originally, somehow manage to get a wide open net anyways, and then shoot the one place the goalie actually has covered

I think Eller is 100% gone, and they will move one of Jensen and Gustafsson, one of Sheary and Mojo, and one of TVR and Smith

If Washington is to trade Jensen, do you think they would consider turning right around and dealing for Fabbro? Or do you think MacLellan would rather risk it in free agency?

I think Fabbro would be a good pickup but for a cut-rate price, NSH has completely tanked his value this year

The more I think about it I'm all in on Chychrun, at the very least makes the team more fun to watch the next couple of years.

I am all in on Chychrun - effective top 4 player, young, great contract.

Wonder if the Caps look into claiming Mark Friedman. Young player who can play LD/RD and has 2 years left on a 800k contract. Low risk / high reward kinda guy.

I’m happy about it. Late 1st is hoping for a Sandin quality player once the Ovi window is over and Sandin fills that now. Feels like Chyc but cheaper.

I love the Sandin pick up but Gus and a first seems a bit steep to me. Even though its a late 1st. Gotta mean we are out on Chick since GMBM wont move our 2023 1st

My original reaction was no. But Sandin has had a nice year and is 22 (did not know he was that young). SIgned through next year on a very low contract. Has had a really great year (on 3rd pairing).

I am looking at this in a posiitve light - Caps get the younger player (Sandin who has a lot of room to grow and develop) and picks while losing two/three players who probably will be priced out.

I heard Orlov wanted 7 to 8 years and Caps weren't wanting to go above 4. So no shot Orlov would have resigned - had to be done. And Caps got picks and 22yo Sandin in the process

I also think its better than 50% chance that Gus comes back on a team friendly deal. I think he really wants to stay and a first round loss isn't gonna make him a Leaf 4L
