Sandin for hoglander is a non starter. In my opinion it's about half of Sandin's value for a position they have no need for.

I think Hoglander is pretty fair for Sandin. Hoglander is very young with several years of NHL experience that had a really rough year with an on ice shooting % of 6. He’s still a very promising middle six winger that will likely be a top 6 guy one day

My thought process was that if they want LD but don’t like Chychruns price they might do it. What other RD might they move?

I dunno, they are kind of stuck with a lot of RHD. I honestly wouldn't move durzi if I were them, especially not for Sandin. I think durzi has much greater value.

Its a weird one for sure

What all would need to be added? I’d do up to a third but nothing more. Maybe a second

For a 22 year old top 4 ready, with top pair ceiling. Don't mistake Toronto holding him back as an issue with his play. Sandin is a complete package type Dman. Strong, heavy hitter with a two way game. He should have been offersheeted by Stevie Y this year.

I like Hoglander. I don't think this last season is indicative of his skills. Leafs have Robertson, knies and Hirvonen in the cupboard with a full assortment of wingers already. They have nothing special in the lhd side after Sandin in the cupboard.

It's a well thought out plan but Toronto should not take that deal.

I'm not sure what gives durzi more value than Sandin. Unless we are adding the mythical capfriendly RHD tax.

In what world does Durzu have more value? He’s older and not as good lol. If your main argument is points, which it absolutely shouldn’t be but if that’s what you’re going with, than consider the fact that Durzi had over half his points come on the PP; Sandin outproduced him 5v5. Durzi got top PP with Doughty out, Sandin never got that opportunity, which is obviously not his fault

Durzi is talented but I don’t think he’s long for staying with LA because of the over abundance of RHD they have in LA or in Ontario. I know they’re high on Helge Grans who will get his shot with LA sooner than later but Brandt Clarke is held in the highest regard and some say could push for a spot at 19 but I think he should go back to the OHL for one more season. One guy who has a lot of upside and maybe not on everyone’s radar is Jordan Spence. He was best defenseman in the QMJHL in one of the seasons and he was more than a point per game player his last season there. He had 42 points in 46 AHL games this past season and was on the top PP unit. I believe he was first all team in the league as a rookie in the AHL as well and he was a 4th round pick. Sneaky good pick by their scouting staff and he’s someone who I’d look out for as early as this season
