There’s zero point in that blues trade, At all. Barbashev is also not a 2C. KK will never play wing.

Ok honestly we’re ready to win a cup. Barbashev plays Centre, he scored 60+ points last season, if we want to win a cup, we should look to make a trade to give us a more dependable 2C than KK, and KK plays LW, until he proves himself, I don’t want to see him as 2C. And honestly if we’re going for a cup this season, we shouldn’t be concerned about locking down depth defenseman. We should be getting ready to win the cup then go into a rebuild over the next half decade surrounding our younger players (Svechnikov, KK, etc.) not saying KK doesn’t have potential, just saying this isn’t his era yet, and I feel much more comfortable putting him on wing and demoting him to a lower line as soon as Pacioretty returns.

No reason for the blues trade. They’re not moving gjys they just signed or traded for and are on great bargain contracts.

You now have KK Stas and Necas to give half a season to show if any of them can play 2C. If so, perfect. If not, address at TDL. I get you don’t want to give KK 2C until he proved himself which is why you give him a couple months to show he can handle it and make a decision after that. This season isn’t about the regular season. It’s about seeing how the new pieces fit in and looking at different combos while potentially making a move or two at TDL ahead of playoffs.
