yes im insane for thinking a 99 point player making the same as a 4th liner is worth a 2nd round pick who likely never becomes close to the player miller is right now. yes im the insane one

He’s expiring and will enter a steep decline entering his 30’s. That’s why ur the insane one lmao.

You are literally pretending the aging process doesn’t exist and ur acting like Miller will be really good until he’s 35. I seriously doubt that he will be because I’m not insane lmao.

I mean Lehkonen did sign for less than 8 years and nobody was gonna give a middle six wing turning 27 more than 5 or 6 years on his next contract.

The fact Miller will want an 8 year deal like Zibanejad and Hertl got isn’t exactly insider information lmao.

What would he hire me to do? Senior VP of Capfriendly Relations? Maybe I could help guys in their 30’s make sure they have enough saved for retirement?

not pretending the aging process doesnt exist ive litterally answered that 5 times now im conviced you ether cat read or choose not to read what i say. your acting like players magicaly fall off a cliff the second they turn 30 after breaking through and becoming a superstar. guys who fall of a cliff at 30 are usually guys who produced at a high level early in their carrer. not guys who have gradually gotten better every year and just break through

No I understand what ur saying. I’m just telling you that ur fantasies about Miller aging gracefully into his mid 30’s r ridiculous.

I mean Miller didn’t produce as much in TBL and NYR cause he was behind guys. At the end of the day he played a physical style for years in both cities. Idea he is gonna age gracefully cause he broke out late is silly.

your fantasies about Raty somehow having more value than Miller is ridiculous. If vancouver actually offered that trade 1 for 1 Lou would except it before Allvin got the words out. get real

i agree with you completely. however none of us are in any NHL teams front office so all we can do is speculate on cap friendly. no one knows which team would have the money/want to extend miller. canucks have made it clear they will not sell low aswell so most miller trades proposed by canucks fans are going to be getting full value out of miller. maybe its to the isles maybe its not but they have made clear they will not undersell on him

But why not take into account the market for Miller? They took offers for him at the last trade deadline and could not get what they wanted, doesn't that tell you something? They can ask whatever they want but if no one bites, they get nothing and he walks in free agency. At some point, they have to be realistic. The rumor is the Rangers offered Chytil, Lundqvist and a 1st round pick and they said no, which is their right to do so, but why on earth would the Rangers offer more than that now when instead of 2 playoff runs, they get only 1? The answer is THEY WON'T, yet Canuck fans post trades to the Rangers for more than what Drury offered last season. It's ridicules, but it happens every day, and the Canuck fans don't understand why Ranger fans simply dismiss their trade proposals. All I can say is keep dreaming I guess because you all are going to very disappointed when you see what you actually get for Miller.

Lmao. Saying get real doesn’t make you right bro. Teams don’t move cost controlled assets for rentals. Maybe watch Raty play before you run ur mouth. You clearly don’t know **** about him.

One of you understands that rentals have less value than other players. The other one is pretending the idea of extending a guy into his late 30’s is an exciting opportunity I should want the isles to pursue.

I didn’t say Raty would be as good as Miller was ever. It’s very likely that Schneider won’t be as good as Miller either. It’s about the fact that young talent that is under control has very high value. It’s that simple.

How many top prospects get traded at the deadline every year? And how often is it a good idea?

You do realize Lou hasn’t traded a prospect during his entire Islanders tenure right? Do your research before you run your mouth.

I understand what you are saying. And I really don’t believe you’ve seen Raty play. Or if you have seen him play you only saw him play last night and thought to ur self “time to trade in Miller for a younger model.”

Im not saying Raty will be as good as Miller. Im just saying there is a reason U want to make this deal Lmao.

Its different in the case of Schneider because he is a right handed D, which is hard to come by in the first place, plus he has size, grit, and leadership qualities. No team is giving up a 20 year old RHD like him for any rental, no matter how many points they scored last year. It's a similar situation as Dobson for the Isles.

i mean you can look at that 2 ways. if a team wants miller they need to step up and beat that offer. (which is a way better offer than Raty) ideally i want the canucks to resign him, but if they cant they UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES can let him walk for nothing. if he is unsigned at the deadline he and patrick kane will be the two best options on the rental market. Miller, making 2.5million is worth atleast 2 1sts in assets considering some of the players that have returned 1sts in recent years

I agree. I didn’t know who to compare Raty to on the rangers. A younger Chytil may have been a better comp.

Lets just state the obvious first.....ALL teams would want Miller for playoff runs. I'm sure Drury would love to rent him for next years playoffs. The real question is what are teams willing to pay? The Rangers are not in the position of possibly losing Miller for nothing, the Canucks are, so they can play Russian Roulette with him and try to squeeze out every drop of value they can but risk losing him for nothing. It happens. The risk is 100% on the Canucks. If Drury wouldn't go above Chytil, Lundqvist and a 1st round pick for 2 years of playoffs, it is absurd to think he would even offer then same for 1 year, let alone more. Absurd.
