Hahaha, actually I intended to comment on the "delay a signing" part thing as well, but pressed submit a bit prematurely...My understanding is that cap hits get prorated so it wouldn't do anything exccept possibly put them in a worse situation, right? Like, if you don't sign Sandin until November or December, you'd be in a similar situation to the Nylander signing , where the cap hit in year 1 was $10.27 mil, or Hampus Lindholm, whose was $500 k more than the AAV when he signed his original extension with the Ducks.
