My early thoughts on next offseason:

Smith - This is an interesting one. If he fails in the Penguins system and Joseph performs well, they let him walk. Might take a little time but I would bet more on him finding his form under Reirden. Not sure what his next contract would look like if he has a solid season.
O'Connor - Wondering if this is his last shot to make the NHL roster this upcoming season, he has to beat out Archibald. If that happens, he is definitely back.
Maniscalco - Not sure. He is a Rutherford era prospect and we have seen Hextall do away with a good amount of those. His time in the system started very slow but he has progressed well since. Based on his recent progression and with him being a right handed shot, I bet he stays around.
Nylander/Puustinen - To me, these two are in the same boat. Both are RWs and would be best utilized as a middle-six scorer but with Rust, Rakell and Kapanen all on the NHL roster, I just don't see the room. Going to predict Puustinen is kept as insurance to Kapanen failing again. I could see the Penguins letting Nylander walk or being traded in a similar fashion as he was acquired in.
Hållander - Could be Hextall's Plan B to centering the fourth line next year (Plan A being Poehling). I am predicting he will be retained.
Gruden - Bottom level prospect and acquired during Rutherford's time. Most likely is not retained.
Lindberg - In line to be Jarry's backup after DeSmith's contract is up. He will be kept.
Poehling - As mentioned above with Hållander, I believe Poehling is Hextall's Plan A to replace Blueger next year if all goes well.
Zohorna - Will not be retained if Hållander beats him out of a bottom-six spot.
Heinen - If he has a similar season to his last one, I assume he is retained and finally gets the raise he deserves.
Blueger/Dumoulin/Zucker - Guessing that all will be allowed to hit the market as UFAs. This ultimately helps out with Jarry's extension and Guentzel's the following offseason. Hextall can also go big game hunting in the UFA market for a top-six winger or a top-four defenseman.

This a great analysis, I almost fully agree.

Zucker’s and interesting one. I see 3 scenarios:
1: Zucker stays healthy (plays over 75% of games) and has a bounce-back year and returns to the player we traded for . Then i would see him getting extended for 3 or 4 years around 4.5 ish.
2: Zucker stays healthy (play over 75% of games) but shows regression from the player he was in Minnesota and becomes a middle/bottom 6 forward. He could possibly still put up points but not near what he used to. I could see him getting a low AAV 1 or 2 year “prove-it deal” and have it be his last chance before he’s let go
3: Zucker just can’t stay healthy (plays under 50% of games) and is a liability because of this. He very well could still be a middle-6 producer, BUT there would be very little appeal to bring him back therefore we let him go to the FA market.

All in all it relies on Zucker’s performance and health this season.

I think Zucker goes by the end of the year regardless of how this season goes for him. If he's playing well and the team thinks they need him or a run, he walks in FA. If he plays well and the team can trade him, then that's how he goes. If he's hurt or doesn't preform, then he walks in FA. His money get's thrown to JT Miller to bring him into town if he doesn't resign with Vancouver. .
