Nill will never trade Benn even if a large overpay comes the other way (chances are), this isn’t a large overpay.

Nill values leadership very much and Benn is captain so he probably values him really high.

Is severson a good defenceman? If not, I would not do the Garland trade plus he may not be willing to sign with the team

Hoglander for Roy makes no sense. Hög is on an ELC and Roy is expected to be owed 3-4M.

I just thought that Benn and Seguin continue to get called out by the owner for their play, maybe Benn asks for a trade out.

If VAN moves Miller they still need a 3C and Roy would be a good replacement with his age, right handed C and the size/grit he provides. Lazar is a 4C/Wing and Dickinson can't win draws and more suitable on the wing.

Well Lites (our CEO who called them out in 2018) is just an @ss hole in general, they played fantastic back then and were injured. He was just far out rude and wrong.

Gaglardi’s (our owner who called them out recently) take is fair, they aren’t playing as they’re being payed, but it’s only because he wants to make money. He doesn’t give a sh*t about hockey, man looks like Jabba the Hut. He only cares about playoff attendance so he can make a profit.

And even if Benn would want out, the last time Jim Nill did a big trade was in 2013 (basically a decade ago), he’s the most dull GM and I wouldn’t expect him whatsoever to make a blockbuster.

He is a underrated dman, extension would be in place in order for the trade to go through.

we definitely don't want that benn contract on the books when we negotiate extensions for horvat/kuz/petey/podz and also severson in this scenario.

we probably wouldn't do that deal + one of the severson/fabbro deals.

fabbro deal is interesting, don't know how highly the canucks rate him. we would probably want a trade with njd like miller for severson+2nd+prospect if we can get a reasonable extension for severson
