The cap is going to be a bit tricky to work, but if Blais comes back on a cheap deal, and Othmann and Cuylle develop, it should be fine. Both Othmann and Cuylle should get a few games this season (22-23), and Othmann should be a full-time player in 2023-24. Cuylle is a bit more unsure in my mind, but many people are high on him, and I don't doubt he has a chance of making it in 23-24. Berard is also a possibility, but I don't think he'll get a real shot for a few years. Sykora is a bit of a long shot, but nothing is impossible, especially since he already has an NHL contract, and he's developed quite fast.
Overall, this lineup might be a bit worse than 22-23. The cap won't go up significantly until 24-25, so a lot of players will need to be signed to bridge deals, the likes of Miller and Laffy, unless Trouba or Lindgren gets traded. 25-26 will probably be a year where we see a shift in the lineup, as the kids start to take over, and only a few of the current core, most likely Zibanejad, Kreider, and maybe Trocheck, remain. We'll see some new veterans join the team, and guys like Laffy and Miller will get their big-boy deals. As long as we still have Fox and Miller on defense, Laffy, Kakko, and Othmann in the forward group, and Shesterkin in net, the future will remain bright.
PS: I don't think Greiss specifically will be the BUG, there's a chance we'll alternate between Garand and Domingue, but as it's still a bit early for Garand, I'm using Greiss as a placeholder. Essentially just insert any veteran on an 800-1M deal.
Back up Goalie for 23-24 is going to be Dom. Laf is going to get a three year deal as at the end of his 4 year deal ... he will be a UFA. He will get closer to 4.5 but depending on how he does this year. Key is going to get a 3 year deal more like 3.5 also pending on how he does this year. Chytil will be traded either during the season or at trade deadline. Blais won't be back because someone will give him more than that. We will have a decent amount of money for 23-24 IMO. Goodrow isn't going anywhere he is too valuable for this team. If he did not come back in the playoffs this year, we would have lost sooner.
