Description
1. Filp trade could be to any team I just picked NSH.

2. Apparently WSH would only trade for Carlson for Simmonds, but I think a deal like this could be in WSH's favor if they lose Alzner/Shatty. They go younger and receive two NHL ready defensemen, a potential top-6 center/winger hybrid, and a 1st round draft choice.

3. Don't know what Tampa is doing with Gusev, but I've liked him for some time now and if they aren't signing him maybe they trade his rights.

4. Jordan Weal trade is to any team willing.

5. Vegas could take Raffl, Laughton, Weise, or Read. I chose Laughton since he's the cheaper option, younger, and has some upside still left in his game.

As much as Carlson is a good player I think that's a huge overpayment. That's 3 players we're expecting to contribute at the NHL level to some degree and a 1st round pick. Add in that Carlson is pushing about as old as I'd want for a guy when most of our core bar Simmonds, Giroux, and Voracek, is 18-25. Plus he only has a year on his deal and will be looking for a monster deal I expect.

He's a good player but I don't think it's a great fit in my opinion.

I think Gusev has a contract in Russia until the end of next season when he has said he'd be looking to move over to the NHL.

I get what you are saying but we could afford Carlson at 6 x 6 contract which he probably is looking for in a year and Provorov/Carlson would be an amazing combination for the next 5 years until Carlson starts to decline.
