Would be interested to see how this works next year with RT big jump. ROR could be extended for less, but Krug would almost certainly have to go to make it work, which may make our D core worse off without a good top 4 cheap option available.

I think the Isles think long and hard about that. Scandella can slide into the 6th/7th D spot and rotate with Salo instead of having to rely on a rookie for 82 games. Kostin is an interesting player who I was high on back in his draft year and was surprised to see him slip so much. And obviously Tarasenko for Beau & the 2nd is probably leaning towards being too much in the Isles favor at this point, but I won't say no.

Not 100% sure if the cap works out but it's a good enough deal that if I'm Lou Lamoriello I just figure that out after the fact - after all, you've got the 10% cushion throughout the summer and can take advantage of that.
