Carolina says no

I see alot of deals involving Stepan to teams that wouldn't take the deal, Minnesota (Dumba) Carolina (Faulk), Winnipeg (Trouba). They are deep at center, St Louis is a Team that could be interested in Stepan. hard to say until the expansion draft shakes out , if Min losses Eric Staal, maybe Stepan is a target. Faulk would require the Ranger's best D prospect ( Graves) & a 1st rounder in 2018 or 2019, & JT Miller or Buchnevich. Similar package for Trouba, The reality is also the Rangers are losing Fast, Linberg or Raantaa in expansion. No one wants Klein & a pick. He was the Rangers 7th Dman by the end of the year. Could he get moved to a team for a mid round pick, probably but not when Fast, Lindberg or Raantaa could be had for nothing. Think Fast & Lindberg would get 2 year deals. The Zibenejad numbers look right & Smith might be a bit more cash or another year. Thorton if they can move Stepan for a RD, would be an option, but he's looking for 3 years from SJ, then again he's coming off of ACL/MCL surgery. So a year at 6 mil might do it if SJ balks.
