It’s been reported that Malkin is done with the Pens. The bridge has been burned

i like it except for the Miller trade. he's 32 and set to start declining. move Malkin to 2C, and sign a LW like Marchment for $3.2M

also Copp is more of a winger than a center, i think Strome is a better option there and he's cheaper

According to Pierre LeBrun, Josh Yohe and Elliotte Friedman, Malkin has been upset by the Penguins unwillingness to offer him more than three years term, especially due to the fact that teammates Bryan Rust, Kris Letang and Rickard Rakell got six years each.

Sidney Crosby has been in constant contact with Malkin, who has been taking the situation “extremely” hard. Crosby has long expressed his desire for the two of them to finish their careers on the Penguins, and has “quietly” had talks with management over the frustrating situation.

The Penguins reportedly upped their offer to 4-years less than two days before free agency, but Malkin felt the Penguins “waited too long” to show their interest in him.

People close to the negotiations say this will likely be the beginning of an “unpleasant ending” to Malkin’s relationship with the Penguins.

ah mixing up my free agents lol but my point is that Miller will cost too much for what we'll get out of him, especially since he's due for an extension around $8M next year. i'd rather keep Marino and the picks.

I have also seen sources saying the door isn’t closed despite Malkin testing UFA

The chances of Malkin staying are very very slim unfortunately. I think he does have a point. They gave Letang 6 years but wouldn’t even give Malkin 4. Prolly hurt his feelings

I know. But they still offered it. Hextall is playing hardball and Malkin is kinda acting like a baby - both are at fault

At the end of the day, Malkin is the player, he can sign whatever he wants. It doesn’t look like he’s too happy with the Pens rn

    Malkin isn’t coming back.

Copp is a top 6 forward so move him to 2LW

    Have Carter be 3C

Have DOC be 4LW and McGinn and 4TW

Then use the cap from Malkin and Rutta to sign a better 2RD

Also think we’d have to add in the Kapanen trade
