To me, acquiring Matt Murray was probably the worst move Dubas and Shanahan could've made. They won't make it past the first round with him in net. I'd say he plays the year and he gets bought out at the end of the year. I know it's not a great year for goalies on the market this year but I'm sure they could've get someone better. I'd get Ilya Samsonov from Washington for a year. Could get a bounce back this year and could get the starting job after training camp.

To help out with the salary cap, the easy way is too get Justin Holl out of there, but you would need to add. I would add Jake Muzzin in the same trade, as he is a better player but also a big contract. Trade them to a team like Seattle, who would try to get competitive, and get Carson Soucy. Good cheap defenseman on a one year contract. If it doesn't work, let him go at the end of the year. I added Jacob Melanson in the deal just because I personaly like his style of play and I would love to see him in a Leafs jersey.

NAK would be a good 3rd liner in Toronto and can bring some sort of leadership, along with Sam Gagner
