I don't think they trade Tatar after drafting Nemec this year. Odds are Nemec doesn't make the NHL roster, but if he did I would not be surprised if he lived with Tatar to start the season. Similar to how Jack lived with Corey his rookie season.

I am one of the happier ones with the Nemec pick, but if we miss out on Gaudreau I'll be a lot less pleased that we didn't pony up for DeBrincat. I could also see the Devils getting a Copp/Nichushkin type player and the fanbase being really upset but it end up being a great move in hindsight in 3/4 years.

Nichushkin is staying and Copp isn’t that elite winger we need. He’ll be good for 45 points. Zacha can put those numbers up. Not what we need at all
