Description
Bmac must have seen the trade and FA center market as much too pricey. Filling internally first then going on from there is what he said today. Backy back later next season and Hags maybe to start the season. He mentioned Protas playing. Hershey kids to the rescue again.

I still hope they take the risk on Miller 50% retained and wait until later in the season / offseason for more clarity on backstrom to re-sign him. Don't think they're going to do that though, and this is about as good a team as you can put together

If that’s all you Caps fans want for Samsonov….. half of the league should be calling.

He was not very good last year, and had one good game in the playoffs. Even with the super thin goalie market I'm not expecting much more than this

He’ a young goalie, former first rounder, just 25 years old, coming off his ELC CONTRACT just a year ago mind you, has put together a nice 2/3 seasons in the NHL and meanwhile makes just 2m a year, coming off a down season so he won’t be breaking the bank for a raise. Goalies are voodoo magic and are known for doing this. If that’s all it takes to pay for a young goalie at such a cheap cap hit, wow. That could be a potential team shifting move if someone makes that trade and it ends up working big time.

I completely agree with everything you said except the fact that there's a pretty fair chance that he is still bad to average next year, which a lot of teams that need cheap goaltending like the leafs in this case can't afford to have. If I was another team I would definitely be taking a flyer on him as it could work out big time, but the price for that flyer still isn't going to be very high ...

Sammy to Toronto could be a move simply because they seem to be lukewarm on Campbell and they have a really good team that can deal better scoring wise with his up and down struggles...a cheaper and younger Campbell if you will.

yea sorry didn't mean to say them or colorado would be bad fits, rather they can't really afford to give up that much more than what they are here for what would not be a sure bet
