One of the problem is that Lucic did have a hard NMC that leave only 10 team available to trade with. On this 10 how many have cap space to bring in 6m for one year ? Not alot of them. Of course in case of Price won't playing MTL could have around 10 to 13m to give. Pitlick and Romanov could be gave bridge contract of 2 or 3 year to leave chance with the cap and pay big contract after that. Which could help this kind of trade in some way.

Lucic contract while big at 6m is only for one year so that an okay deal I feel. MTL won't need to be competitive the next two years and I expect to have some trade happening during draft or a week after the free agent. Around 20 juillet people who couldn't get the piece A or B they want in free agent could turn on certain asset like a Petry or Drouin at mid to cheap price.
