Imagine putting Seider behind Zegras when Seider beat him out for Calder. I’m okay with Hughes 1st still but Zegras over Seider is laughable

Would you rather have Matthews or Makar?

Take a look at who’s matthews and McDavid’s #1 dman is. I wonder why they can’t win. Also, take a look at the #1 dman for the past couple Stanley cup winners:

In the playoffs you truly want a #1 dman. That’s how you win

Those 3 teams also had top line elite centers lol.

Tampa couldn't win in the postseason until Point became the top center

"In the playoffs you truly want a #1 dman. That’s how you win" You could say look at Nashville with Roman Josi and they can never win. Look at Rangers with Fox and they choked hard in the playoffs. Erik Karlsson didn't win anything. It's a team game. An elite center is the most important piece though. To win you'd probably want both.

Penguins won the cup with Dumo as their top d man against a team that had Roman Josi.

They won because of Crosby. That's what you need to win. A top center. No team can win without one.

We will have to agree to disagree. Both arguments can hold up. Still would much rather have Seider than Zegras going forward. Just has a bigger impact playing 24+ minutes a night
