not what I want, what I think

Avs have put their focus on Kadri and then Kuemper. I just cannot see them keeping Nichushkin so they want to send him out of conference. Also move Girard because of how well Byram played in playoffs. Only way this doesnt happen is if Johnson retires, which is possible but i doubt it

Andy Greene sucks but I just see him returning unfortunately

Dont see us moving Varly as much as I want to

Just a guess but hopefully Lambert likes Bellows. Bellows looked great in the Oilers game where Lambert was on the HC duties so maybe there is something there??? Bellows is ready for top 6 so lets hope.

Dufour has a great shot at making the roster out of camp. I think the islanders will remain somewhat conservative but still try to contend, so letting Dufour start in the NHL seems likely. I could see us play him in the AHL to start, not have a good start to the season and move a forward then call him up. Likely Bailey or maybe Parise or Palmieri

    Nuke's top priority for the Avs. They'll try to work it out with Kadri and Kuemper, but will depend on their asking prices. Kadri has said he wants to stay with the Avs but he won't be taking any discounts to stay, so he's probably priced himself out of what they can afford given all the FAs they have.

    I would not be upset with that Avs deal, but I think Nichushkin gets $6m AAV

    I differ on a few other things:
    - I think Bailey is a goner
    - I think Greene retires
    - I don't see why NYI trades Martin when Clutter just signed to the same term remaining as him. Maybe Martin LTIRetires after next year
    - Dufour would need to have a hell of a camp, I don't think they are banking on him being in the top-9 next season. Would rather give him top AHL minutes with Raty than come in and out as a non- regular
    - Varly goes if there is a path to Gaudreau/Forsberg and the cap space is needed

    we just re-signed Clutter which is why I think he stays
    Dufour is just my guess. I think he gets 9 games in the NHL
    I hope Varly and Bailey leave, hopefully greene retires

    I saw a report that the order is Kadri 1 then Kuemper 2. Not sure where that leaves Nichuschkin and I think that he will prefer to capitalize on his postseason run and cash out. Only way he stays is if Kadri doesnt work out and/or Johnson goes on LTIR

    Curious where that report came from. Not saying that they don't want to figure out how to bring Kadri back, but he's also looking to cash in. He's arguably been underpaid his entire career and as much as he'd love to stay, he's also said he's looking to be paid what he's worth. He was 3rd on the Avs in pts this season behind only MacKinnon and Moose, and arguably their most consistent player for the entire season given the injuries they dealt with. A lot of FA rankings have him sitting top 2-3 overall. Someone's gonna throw silly money at him. So whoever issued that report thinks that the Avs are going to prioritize paying a 32 year-old upwards of 7-9M into his late 30's when players traditionally fall off? If you've watched Sakic build this team the past 5 years, you'd know Joe doesn't make stupid decisions like that. The largest FA contracts he's handed out have been to Soderberg and Donskoi. MacKinnon, Byram, and Newhook are all about to need extensions. The Avs beat writers who travel and report on the team have been saying that they're prioritizing Nuke and Lehkonen. They want Kadri and Darcy back as well, but only at the right price. With the coming extensions and so many roster spots to fill with only $25M in cap space, chances are extremely slim that Joe pays 1/3 of that to Kadri on a long-term deal, which is what he deserves. Obviously they want as many of these guys back as possible, but cap space is limited so hard decisions have to be made.
