Canucks go for Bedard

Créé par: Nyte1706
Équipe: 2022-23 Canucks de Vancouver
Date de création initiale: 30 juin 2022
Publié: 30 juin 2022
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Ok, maybe this team isn't bad enough to get Bedard, but next years draft is pretty stacked, so maybe someone like Michkov? These moves would also put Vancouver in a position to leverage their cap space in the coming summers, maybe they get a big name UFA?

  3. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (NYR)
Détails additionnels:
If at least one of the following occurs, Vancouver also receives NYR's 2024 1st round pick:
1) JT Miller resigns with the Rangers
2) The Rangers win the 2023 Stanley Cup, and JT Miller averages at least 15:00 TOI per playoff game

Some might argue this would be an overpayment by adding Kakko, but Vancouver (or any other team) could probably offer sheet him anyways. Maybe Vancouver throws in something small as well to get the deal done.

Détails additionnels:
Leafs pay a 1st round, N. Robertson, and a prospect to shed 5.8 million in cap space + get a valuable player that could likely play on the second line with Tavares and Nylander on a very good contract. Let's not forget that the Leafs paid Carolina a first round pick to take Marleau's contract a few years back, so I think this is definitely fair.
TOR
  1. Garland, Conor (2 475 000 $ retained)

VAN

Détails additionnels:
Anywhere for pretty much anything, doesn't have to be Buffalo, likely a team with a lot of cap space/struggling to meet the cap floor. Would depend on OEL waving his NMC though
4.
VAN
No return, anywhere for anything. Maybe a team will value him for his size lol
    5.
    VAN
Anywhere for either nothing, or can sweeten the deal to make them take the contracts. They are all only 2 years though and they aren't horrendous players. Perhaps Mrazek could see a resurgence in Seattle, which would help out their goaltending issues

The 1st trade is just nonsense. A 30 year old guy im who had a career year is not going to get you two 1st Rd picks and 2 guys picked in the 1st round. It's wild how bad this is.

I don't really hate the Leafs trade. I think you have the thinking on what it would cost to dump the contracts wrong. It's max a 2nd. It's not remotely similar to the Marleau situation. So the 1st and prospects are alot to give up, but having a player like Garland at that deal would be hard to pass up.

doesnt help the deal that holl is an actual good defender who wouldnt be a cost to get rid of
at best the deal is a first and robertson
to save the 1 million just buying mrazek out would get you

i can understand how 1 might think holl is bad with how often leafs fans complain about him
but this trade is deceptively bad for the leafs

conor garland has only been at best 20% better than kerfoot over the last 2 seasons
and i wouldnt trade a 1st and 2 prospects to get kerfoot and dump 1 million in cap

Teams don;t generally retain money on contracts that have more than 1 year remaining. Garland has 4 at least. Kerfoot & Robertson for Garland & a late pick. If you want Holl, the pick is going to move up in the draft. IF you take Mrazek, the pick can move back down in the draft. Print it.

Yeah if you want that package from NYR it would be for Pettersson half retained. And probably more.
