I think a team would need to overpay to get him, then lower the extension if he doesnt produce. Similar to what the canes did with KK

Or, you could give up less (3rd) for the player and extend him at a fair rate from the start? Bear would also be an unrestricted free agent on deal completion, something KK wasn't.

Very true. Maybe a Bear+ for Kerfoot makes sense. Could be a good fit for both sides.

Kerfoot is of no interest. He'd just take the Necas role of being a skilled player on the 4th line. Domi would just come back if the Canes wanted to go that route.
