It'a been widely reported that Shattenkirk wants to play in the Northeastern part of the US the Rangers and Bruins would be the leading contenders. No way do i see him playing in Canada.

I truly believe that Trouba wants to play in the United States, I never specifically said he would only play in Detroit. Dreger said from Trouba's agent Kurt Overhardt that yes Trouba wouldn't mind coming home and playing in Detroit but it's not his only option he will go where he feels is best suited for him.

Meh, if he does then that's fine with me. He's not on my team so I don't care all that much. And for the record, I believe that a lot of players want to play for their home town team. Nothing wrong with it. But when you pigeon hole yourself (like Lindros did way back when) that's when it gets messy.

I'll agree that Shattenkirk wants to play in the NE USA. We'll see what offers come in, especially if he limits himself to those clubs.
But I am completed astounded (constantly) why any one would think the Leafs want Shattenkirk on their roster. Leafs had the # 2 PP, don't need Shatterkirk. Shattenkirk is average at best defensively, something the Leafs aren't shell out 6.5m for. And witnessing Shattenkirk's average play in the playoffs, do you really think he worth of top 10 Dman pay in the league. Absolutely not.
