Why do you have these elite teams making stupid trades for cap space? Without Lindquist New York is an average team same for Tampa without Stamkos. I'd rather let either of those players walk for nothing at the end of their contracts than to sell them now for scraps.

Yeah, Henrik Lundqvist isn't a "scrap" either.


I don't care what Gibson's potential is, he will never be as good as Lundqvist.

Funny how various Armchair GMs will have different opinions on this trade. My thoughts, as a one year quick fix, it would benefit the Ducks. Lundqvist's contract 8.7m for 6years.....just awful. Think the Ducks will be happy with Andersen and Gibson going forward. Silverfberg sure had an excellent playoffs. If it continues, the Ducks have a great 1-2 combo on RW.
