Don't know if 8m is much of a discount. Most or all competitive teams won't have the cap room for over 8m for one player. Maybe a bottom dweller, but teams like that generally don't spend near the cap anyway, and would SS want to go to a non contender.? I think he stays where he is....and is happy.

What I suggested, what teams......please name them.... have viable cap space to sign SS. I suggest as you did, that 8m a year is a likely figure from Tampa Bay, and he will sign there. What teams have the capability and desire to sign SS to 9m plus?

Teams in need of a #1C, Devils, Wild(depending on cap) Blues(depending on cap), maybe Winnipeg if they want a superstar, Nashville if they have the cap, Toronto, Montreal if they have the cap.

Mr Nash. Your logic...."if they have cap" is illogical. In the "if they have cap" scenario, just mention all thirty teams. Would defeat the purpose of Armchair GM though. My team for next year includes Crosby, Malkin, Toews, Kane, Perry, Stamkos, Tavaras, Giroux, "depending on the cap."
