With all due respect, Guerin won't. They hate player's like drouin. Unless dumba negotiations go wrong, dumba won't get traded. Plus people are forgetting dumba can block trades

They’re not actively negotiating with Dumba (per Russo), actually the plan is to let him walk after the season or trade him at the deadline if we are out of it. Because there hasn’t been much trade interest in him. BG has been shopping Dumba for over 2 years, Dumba is available if someone came with an offer. No one has done that yet. Dumba has a 10 team no trade list, that’s 22 teams he can be traded to. Make no mistake, BG will trade Dumba if someone offered even remote value for a top 4 RHD. But he hasn’t been the same player since the pec injury and he gets hurt often, so I see why teams have reservations about him.

Dumba is 27 and if willing to extend in Montreal actually fits quite well with the rebuild (at least better than Petry as he is 7 years younger)

He can't block trades, he only has a 10 team no trade list and would have had to submit it already (I believe once the contract was signed or maybe once a year on June 15th. I can't remember what the criteria is lol). The question is who does he have on his 10 team NT list, I don't think Montreal or any Canadian team would be (unless he specifically doesn't like the team) because he is Canadian.

It’s usually submitted once a year.

The Habs have a logjam on the backend and would probably rather let their prospects prove themselves.

They have a logjam at LD, RD is actually pretty thin once you remove Petry. Our best RD prospect is Mailloux after that we have Brook (who looks like a bust) and a bunch of guys who can play their off side like Romanov, Guhle and Eddy and some shouldn't play their off side in Niku, Clague, Sheuneman, Fairbrother and Leskinen. None of our LD should be playing top pair RD long term and Mailloux is more of a 2nd pairing guy. Getting a guy like Dumba moves everyone back to their proper positions and we can still move Petry as planned.

I understand that, but it seems likely that Romanov will move to the RD because Guhle, Harris, Struble, Norlinder, etc. will look for spots on that side. On the RD, that leaves us with Romanov, Barron, Mailloux. Not to mention that we have vets that could need spots.
