Interesting trade. I'd be inclined to say yes (especially if Smith retires). Gibson's stats have been mediocre for a few years, but whenever he's been on a winning Ducks team, he has been fantastic. I'd bet on him bouncing back to be a top 15 goalie again. Barrie is likely gone for cap space anyway (as he is tradeable and not negative value). Steel would help the bottom 6 and the Oil would still have the money to add a 2nd line winger (just not Kane), and the 1st likely being late and the Duck's 2nd being early means there isn't much difference there.

This is an interesting one, I like the thought. Only comment is that any trade with EDM and I’d love to target Broberg. He doesn’t seem to have a clear path to minutes for EDM and a big young Dman would be clutch for the ducks
