It makes sense only from Toronto's point of view. Why would the Isles trade 1 year of Mayfield at 1.45 mil for 2 more years of Muzzin at 5.6 mil? Is Muzzin 4 mil better than Mayfield? No he isn't. Stating facts isn't illegal. Maybe you should be the one to chill out? CFACM is a place to discuss hockey, no? Not everyone will agree with you and there's nothing wrong with that.

They just need to look at the other team's rosters more and understand what makes sense from their point of view instead of just the Leafs. Trade Muzzin? 5.6 mil of cap space? An example is when Red Wings fans say they don't need Jeff Petry because he's a RD (Seider, Hronek, Lindstrom are here) making 6.25 mil at 34 years old for 3 more years, there's no need to create 100 CFACGM Montreal ACGMs of Petry to Detroit for bla bla bla because he's from Michigan and his Dad won a World Series Ring with the 1984 Detroit Tigers.

They would also be getting a good young prospect, I dont think that trade is as one sided as stated.

Even if the Isles don't re-sign Mayfield they can move him at the trade deadline. I mean Ben Chiarot got a 1st and he was a rental. Good RD's are always in demand. No one is saying Mayfield is a star. But most defensemen aren't. It just doesn't make sense for Lou to trade for the older and more expensive Muzzin for the next 2 years. They have more than enough greybeards on that roster.

I get what you're saying, part of the reason why I made up a trade for a right shot, they are tough to come by. That trade for chiarot is a tough one to swallow if you're a panthers fan.
