Description
The biggest thing this off-season is extending Sanhiem… 5-8 years at 5-6 mill, whatever it takes. Him and Bear could quietly become one of the best duos in the league at shutting players down if they progress together.
Anyway, some value may be off… no clue how canes fans value bear or even how their left side is… might not be a piece they need… just having a little fun this morning

Détails additionnels:
Necas and TK should be pretty close to value. TK seems to be what Necas can become. I think getting a more ready guy can help the canes win now, which they are in a good position. TK has been progressing really well, as long as the Canes don’t hire AV as a coach in the next few years, I think he continues to progress into a less A hole version of Marchand… currently I’d say TK has a slight edge in value but really not much.

Not sure how canes fans value Bear, I like him a lot, think he can turn into a solid shut down D, lots of value left on the table compared to Provorov which is where Morrow and the pick come in. The pick will probably be really late, can make it conditional that if the canes don’t make it to round 2 this becomes a 2nd

Probably, I didn’t know what to value some of those pieces… I think Morrow is a very good prospect, wasn’t sure if him and a first would cover the difference

I don't see it - TK is good but I don't think he's the difference maker we need and Provorov isn't really a need we need to fill either. I'd rather use those assets to get an elite top 6 winger personally.

Not a huge fan of the CAR trade. You can have Bear for like a 3rd though - I like him and think he has some potential but things didn't work out for him here due to covid/injury and think he wants more of an opportunity which he isn't likely to get here.

I'd be careful if you think he'll come in as a shutdown type role. His footspeed is lacking and even though he has pretty good instincts he can get beaten fairly easily on the rush if he's not positionally sound. He's also not the strongest on board battles but that could be more of an injury thing. He brings great instincts on the offensive side and is a good PP QB - great at getting his shot off and finding gaps.

Agreed, I’d ask for at least another first or top prospect plus a depth player like Martinook (salary retained maybe) so Brink can get time in the AHL.

That also improves the 4th line in Philly a lot.

All in all, this is a pretty nice team, not 100% on Necas being a top 6 guy right away, would keep Atkinson if possible. Then Necas probably moves to the 4th since that 3rd line had so much chemistry. So you kind of have to pick a poison there.

Risto being a healthy scratch is hilariously accurate.

Sanhiem and Bear would definitely be a pairing to watch. If Ellis is healthy him and Ben would also be really strong together.

This team is would probably make a playoff run especially if Fed reaches 85% of his potential.

Damn, I only have seen bear play a handful of games but liked what I’ve seen, was thinking Sanhiem could teach him a thing or two but now I’m worried haha

Yeah, you can probably get a better sniper type winger to help your team with that package. I didn’t know if these would fit but I think my interest in Morrow got the better of me and I … well, as the name of this post says “went insane” haha

It's tough because there were some small stretches where Bear looked great, granted he was playing w/ Slavin which helps anyone but you still have to play well and he was noticeable. I would give him the benefit of the doubt and say covid and some of the lingering injuries he was battling throughout the year impacted his play more than anything and hopefully that was the reason behind the slower footspeed and less strength. It's a gamble but I think it could pay off if he's in the right system w/ the right playing partner.

Yeah I just don't think the fit is great on that trade but get why you did it. A lot of us Canes fans are pretty excited for Morrow down the road, sometimes I think a lot of us are way overboard on him but we'll see. I'd definitely be willing to move him for a big impact piece though, just not sure what it is or how the team actually feels about doing something like that.

Well necas has been on pace for more than 40 points every year of his career so I think it would only make sense for him to be in the top 6

I get some people aren't sold on him but he's only 23 and his inconsistent "down" year in progression was 40 points
