Vegas looking to shed cap quickly to start their off-season as they need to sign Hague and Roy without really being held for ransom. Instead of paying teams to take on Martinez and Dadanov, the Canes give them a decent deal with Sellgren who could play on the roster next year and Cotton who is older and could step into a 12th/13th forward with little issue. Or they can let them walk with no worries. They can hold Kaski's rights for as long as they want to.

Arizona takes this deal because they get a way out of Richie who will get more real money than cap money and get someone who can start as 3RD next season. Arizona will take on 2.625 mil for 3.5 mil in cap instead of 2.5 mil in cap for 3.5 mil in real dollars.

Canes hold Necas in higher value than the market so he ends up staying another year. Richie and Acciari with Necas make the 4th a potential scoring line. If Necas doesnt work out as a center then slide drury down to 4C and Necas / acciari up to the 3rd line.

while this off-season lacks sexy the Canes maintain cap flexibility for the next 2 off-seasons. This is much more likely than scenario than a trade for Pasta or Miller or signing Forsberg or Kane.

If we can find a good deal for Gardiner then we will move him rather than buying him out.
