The Ottawa trade is super unrealistic, but Ottawa takes it if they aren't at risk of losing their guys. They could move Tavares to the wing and use him for key draws to allow for their 1C and 2C to develop. Instead of a 2024 first though, they would trade C. Brown if Tavares is coming that cheap

you'd be lucky to get any positive value at all for Tavares on that contract, let alone an unprotected potential lottery 1st round pick in Bedard's draft year, especially when you're asking for it from a team that already has their centre positions locked up
