NYR decline. No way you are getting Lundkvist & Chytil for garbage

Well I think Chytil vs Pearson is fair but you have Pearson at 1,625 is a steal! But you also get away from Nemeth contract that is bad for the team! so you have to play like a 3rd or a prospect that doesn´t fit your team like lundkvist. So imo you get better and cheaper for 2 seasons.

Lundkvist isn't the prospect that you give up. Pearson is a bottom six winger. Even if they lose Vatrano & one of Strome/Copp they still have prospects like Othman and Cuylle for the third line.

Next year without this trade they can look like:

Kreider-Zib-Laf
Panarin-Copp/Strome-Kakko
Othman-Chytil-Kravtsov/Goodrow
Goodrow/Cuylle-Rooney/Brodzinski-Reaves
Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Jones/Lundkvist-Schneider



Pearson doesn't make NYR better next year, or the year after. He just blocks prospects from playing in the NHL, while costing more prospects to obtain.

Yeah this is an easy Ranger decline. Rangers are thin at center so they wont trade Chytil. LW is not a need so Pearson doesn't fit.

Don't think Caps would do that. They can use that package to find someone younger and signed longer.
