Description

We have to hit it big with that draft.

I have Price on LTIR because he is either going to be out again or retire. I don’t see him making a comeback at this point as sad as it is.

My goal here is to build up picks for 2023. All the trades have that aim. Guys like Byron, Hoffman, and Armia can be held onto until deadline time and again we can try to build mid round picks in 2023 and maybe 1 or 2 in 2024 for them.

It’s going to be tough to find a landing spot for Jeff and Detroit isn’t it. However Columbus and Nashville are likely destinations because each has the cap space needed and even the Preds could use a veteran RHD to play with Ekholm. We will have to sweeten the pot for them to take the salary so that’s why Kapanen goes the other way. Olofsson also won’t sign with us so trade his rights elsewhere. They have no need for Meyer but we can try and work on rebuilding him as a defenceman.

I can't see the Sharks paying to move LaBanc, we are in need of right shot wingers and he is one of the only proven NHL ready ones we have. He likely gets the chance to play on 2nd line to start season with Couture & Eklund.

We’re not trading for a left defenceman and especially not sending Anderson to do it. In the system we have Romanov, Harris, Guhle, Norlinder, Xhekaj who some time in the future could all play for us. They’re all left defenders. This list also doesn’t include Fairbrother and Struble. Also there are a number of forwards that are higher on the let’s get rid of them list than Anderson.

You have to be realistic about this trade, it’s an unhappy player who wants out and wants to go as near to home as he can. The facts are against us here. Whoever the buyer is has the upper hand
