Why keep us in suspense about this fathom extension. Please give figures. I doubt if Fowler signs, he might as well go to UFA.

Just a couple side details that aren't that important.. last I heard reway was battling some crazy illness which kept him from playing this year, don't think he is getting traded. And based off of Cap Friendly's Vegas draft tool, hudon isn't eligible to be drafted.

I thought so too, but I think its because he's a restricted free agent.

It's an old article but every site I check says he won't be exempt. As for Reway, he's just a placeholder name, you could replace him with any of the habs "B" level prospects (Carr, De la Rose, etc.)

Not sure but if Bergevin sees him as that #2 D to play with weber, I can only assume he'll offer somewhere around $6 mil per, and with Fowler's age you have no problem giving him the 8 year deal. They would be able to afford him once Markov leaves.

Just wanted to add I'm like 99% sure Hudon is eligible for the draft because he already has 3 years professional experience in North America (AHL).

I really like the Fowler trade, I think it's fair for both teams and properly fills each one's needs. Fowler-Weber could be one of the top pairings in the NHL for many years (I don't see Weber's game mysteriously declining like others) and it allows you to ease in Sergachev correctly. My only reservation would be that we would need to make sure we can find a center or two to properly fill in the top 6 before moving Chucky, but assuming that can be done, I would make that deal.
