The deal makes sense for both parties. Just a solid hockey trade, no added fluff. Devils need a goalie and Kahkonen is young, promising and experienced. Sharks need secondary scoring and Zacha can do that. I think it makes sense. They're the same age as well.

I think Devils rather go for Samsonov who is better and has more potential than Kakkonen

And will cost substantially more.

A lot of caps fans have done Zacha for Samsonov 1 for 1, sometimes something like a 3rd is added to Zacha, which would also be fine.

I'm fine with either really, value-wise. I just don't know if Kahkonen/Samsonov are big enough upgrades to fix our abysmal goaltending.

That's what trading Zacha alone gets. He isn't returning a star goalie.
