I kinda want to see the leafs give Engvall a look on the top line with Matthews and Marner with how well Pierre has been playing lately and with Bunting not scoring in the last 12. I know the top line has been great and i wouldnt necessarily try it tonight against Florida but i would love to give it a game or two before playoffs to see what happens.

Why break up Bunting - Matthews - Marner when it has been the best line in the league? Engvall on the second line, sure, but not the first, Bunting is still a threat on the first line and teams need to watch out for him. The game against the Flyers, Rielly wouldn't have scored if Bunting didn't deflect the puck with his stick and Bunting set Matthews up against the Lightning for a goal

I'm not saying to do it for a long period of time, i just wanna see it for a game or two. Could be a reward for Engvall playing so well and a reminder to Bunting that he needs to bring it every night and that his spot with Matthews and Marner isn't always guaranteed.

Bunting has nothing to prove or doesn't need a 'reminder', I notice how hard he works every game he plays

I like Bunting there long term and really like what he brings on the nightly basis but no goals last 12 games playing with Matthews and Marner honestly seems difficult to do. I think Keefe good light a fire under Buntings ass by bumping him down for even a game or two. Maybe even give him a night off in the next couple weeks (not saying as a healthy scratch more just for rest) and see how Engvall does with more opportunity.

Bunting has no reason to be playing anywhere outside of the Matthews and Marner line, if anything proved from last night, the Leafs made Nylander expendable and should be traded in the offseason

I can understand "rewarding" Engvall for his play, but that top line shouldn't be touched.

His reward is his ice time, he's getting more and more by the game. He'll get lots during the playoffs, Keefe trusts that 3rd line completely it seems.

The second line makes sense for Engvall but the Leafs aren't touching the best line in the league

I wouldn't even move Engvall, the lines you've got here look pretty good to me.

Leafs fans eh? Engvall is either a negative value contract being traded away to clear cap or he's getting praise to play top line lol.
