Description
Tkachuk forces his way out of CGY by saying he'll accept the qualifying offer and walk or be traded - unlikely that this happens but not a bad deal for either team. STL may have to add but Kyrou is a point per game player and younger by a year - Tkachuk fits Berube's style of play much better.

My thought process is - we wait another year til possible UFA for Tkachuk, we lose a prime year of ROR/Tank/Faulk/etc - most of our core. CGY will not take 1 year of ROR or Tank for a 24 year old 1st line winger. Also, unlikely we could afford paying $6-8 million a year for Thomas/Kyrou/Tkachuk unless we trade Binner or let Tank/ROR/Perron walk.

Also - CGY could convince him to resign with a massive deal or trade to OTT to unite with Brady and he might re-sign there too.
