Description
The Jets are still chasing that playoff spot. There is cap space to sign Staal. The Olympics were not that long ago so he should be close to game ready.
Not sure why anyone is not willing to take a chance on him. Is it Staal that is the issue?

I think you're right in terms of Staal not being playoff eligible (which is what I think this ACGM is about). From CapFriendly: "Unrestricted free agents signed after the trade deadline are eligible to play during the regular season, but ineligible to play during the playoffs."

My guess is that the Jets would bring up Gustafsson if there was an injury.

You can sign him, and he might help get you into the playoffs, but then he's done.
