Mr Square. Yep. The Cup worthy Ducks are going to give away, a fine young cap friendly defenceman, for a one year then UFA forward, and a minor league defenceman. By the way Vatanen scored 12 goals as a defenceman, Perron 17.

Guess you rated the with 5 stars and are the only one ever who would do that :-)

Both deals make no sense whatsoever for the other team.

The Buffalo Trade isn't bad, they need a good goal tending prospect, and scuds would fit in nicely there (Baylsma likes Scuds alot)
He is in New York close to his family and can finish his career in a place of low stress, with a couple of cups already

Gambling on Jarry is not worth Scuderi's contract and losing Foligno who's still in his RFA years.

Wow. Both marlocmarloc and awomansview1 proved that they would be terrible GM's. Neither one of these deals are bad. Sdeperte is completely right about the Buffalo deal. Makes sense for both squads. People seem to think that a player being a UFA next summer makes them a terrible trade chip. Who cares if he is a free agent next summer. It's called resigning him. You may have heard of it and the fact that you are calling Dumoulin a minor league defenseman humors me. Anaheim is given a top-6 scoring winger and a young d-man that may or may not develop into anything plus a 2nd round pick, which is right below a 1st if you guys were unaware and the pens get the top-4 right handed shot D man they need. It might not be tip top notch, but it's far from a bad deal.

Yeah it's not that bad of a deal. Although given that Dumoulin is turning 24 next month, I don't think it's unfair to call him a minor league d-man. Perron would fill a need for the Ducks (at least for 1 season lol).

Actually the vatanen trade is bad.. Not as bad as the Shattenkirk one but nothing the ducks would be interested in.. Vatanen is a right handed defenseman who produces at a higher rate than Perron and is getting paid less than half of what Perron is, who is also a free agent next season and the ducks aren't guaranteed to be able to resign him. Also, with the ducks devensive depth dumoulin likely won't be anything more than a 7th Dman for the them. Perron, sprong, and a 2nd might get the deal done but I don't think even that will be enough to convince the ducks to trade vatanen. The other trade is more likely
