Just know that the 2c will be open with Kadri leaving so copp could be a great 2c until newhook takes Over and he can play 3c or 2lw top pk I've seen deals like 4-5mil range but he might want to go play for Detroit because he's from Michigan so there may be a risk but he may see Colorado as a place to win

Lek RFA > Copp UFA

If Kadri walks COL has cap space for a 2C in UFA.
They could even trade for Lek now and sign Copp as a UFA in the summer

Not a lot of 2c in free agency tbh like strome, copp, Kadri, trocheck but all probably to rich for Colorado copp probably the cheapest there

Copp is a career 30 pt/season player. As a 2C, that’s on the lower end of what you’d expect from a 2C on a playoff contending team. Not to mention there will be more than a few C available as UFAs with that type of production

Ok like who then because I've checked the free agency class and centers aren't a common thing this season it looks like so indulge me because winnipeg if they sells scheifele they may need a low cost 2c

COL needs a fill in for like 1-2 years max so even an older vet like a Malkin, Bergeron or Giroux might fit the bill if not resigned (looking for one last good cup run perhaps).

COL also has the option of moving Newhook up to 2C and just signing wingers next year.
