He’s slightly worse than Hagel with no guarantee low (1.5m) cap hit with term to warrant anything more than a 1st imo. But this deadline is dumb and guys are getting way more than their actual value imo

Hagel is by no means better as a player. Just a better contract. Brisebois has targeted a market inefficiency with teams unwilling to overpay for cheap value players with term and instead always going on rentals. Brisebois has mastered the game.

Leason, being another winger, doesn't really have value for the Jackets, so you'd have to send us someone else to make up for taking on Eller's contract.
