The rangers aren't a winning team (yet) so no hes not taking a massive paycut.. his camp wants around 7m rangers want him for around 5 or more realistically 5.5.. would say a good compromise for both parties is 5 years 6m.. however I dont think I'd keep strome for that $. They might sit tight and see if they can make a trade at the draft for a 2C.. we won't sign strome during the season.. rangers have eyes on other options. Scheifele in WPG if they want to make big changes cause they just aren't there..
